We leave Lille for London

But of course we stop at one of the markets dotted around the city.. wow, what wonderful food. We could have stayed for a week and eaten our way through the wonderful fare.

Lille's markets are the place to find fresh local produce from all over Nord-Pas de Calais

Artichokes

chicory, endives and vegetables from the surrounding area; apples and cider from the Avesnes are in the west

So fresh... city markets should be everywhere, supermarkets? pfft.. no character

We bought slabs of this wonderful pate and jellied meats, and later had them on fresh crusty rolls... ah, was even better than fresh roast boar!!
